This is a 100% new alternator with built-in regulator. Make sure your battery is charging properly with this good quality new replacement alternator. This style of alternator was original equipment on 73-later Beetles and Ghia's to assure fast starts and bright lights. Please note- on 73-74 models- you will need to do a small amount of re-wiring. This alternator is the exact replacement for the original Bosch unit AL82N, which has been discontinued by Bosch.
