Adding weight to the rotating engine assembly is nothing new. Many Chevy- Ford and other domestic engine builder have been doing this for years. Adding a Overweight pulley onto the end of your crank can help to absorb some of the engines harmonic vibrations. For racing and performance applications- the extra weight can help to reduce crankshaft twisting and aid in leaving the starting line by reducing engine bog. These pulleys are also very helpful for off-road and Sand Buggy engines when you want to start out in second gear. Super strong one piece construction and virtually unbreakable.

Special Notes about timing degree ring.
This Pulley comes with the timing ring scale separate and has to be bonded to the steel pulley before installation. The scale comes with dry glue on the back that requires the pulley to be heated just so it can’t be comfortably handle by bare hands. The pulley is marked on the left side for lining up the timing scale prior to fixing. The timing mark on the pulley is aligned with the key-way slot and should be positioned to the left or 9 o’clock position in front of you. The timing scale then is placed over the pulley with the 90 degree mark lined up with the timing mark and the key-way to the left with the TDC mark at 12 o’clock. Once you are sure the timing scale is lined up properly remove the plastic from the bottom and top lay the scale back onto the pulley and slowly heat the pulley with a hair dryer or heat gun careful not to heat the timing scale too much directly to avoid overheating the scale itself. Once the pulley has been sufficiently heated you can hold the scale in position with one hand with either a towel or gloves and then slowly rub the scale into the pulley all the way around to fix it permanently to the pulley. Heating the pulley will activate the glue on the scale. When the pulley is cooled it is ready to install.
