The driving stability of old VW Buses is not the best, which has to do mainly with the rear swing axle. Load changes can cause dangerous body roll, a reason why Volkswagen changed the undercarriage to IRS on the second Bus generation. With this CSP Products kit, you can convert a first generation Bus to independent rear suspension. But remember that the assembly requires welding! We therefore recommend the installation by experienced amateurs or professionals only.
In addition to this kit, IRS arms of a Beetle or Karmann Ghia are required.

The kit contains two bolt-on CDC-coated IRS mounts, two weld-on steel travel limiter, two weld-on upper shock mounts, two spacers for the spring axle caps, two adjustable and CDC-coated CSP Products spring plates, and two special driveshafts in the correct length, making it unnecessary to underlay the CV joints. Also included are high-quality mounting hardware and detailed instructions in English.
