Description

This aftermarket complete replacement wiper motor assembly can be used in any 12 volt standard Beetle 67-77 and Super Beetle 71-72 (Not 73-79 Super Beetle). This unit is a direct replacement for all standard 73-77 Beetles, if you plan to install this into an earlier year Beetle, you will need to also replace the wiper arms with new 73-77 wiper arms (SEE part number C24-111-955-407-8H). As you can see from the detailed photos (Click the LARGER PHOTO button above), this motor uses push-on connectors, so you will need to install a female wiring connector onto your original wiring and it may be necessary to extend some wires.

Special Note about setting the stop position: These motors are not pre-set in the park position. The nut that holds the small arm to the shaft sticking out of the motor is not tightened down. These are shipped loose from the factory. The shaft is a tapered fit and the arm needs to be adjusted to the correct position before it can be tightened.

Wiring:
First 31b has to be connected to 53. use a female connector on 31b and a female / male on 53.
Then use either constant power or switched / key on power to terminal 53a
Then just feed power from a switch to 53 for low speed and 53b for high speed.

Installation into your 58-66 Beetle that has been converted to 12-volt system: This can be done as the distance between the wiper shafts is the same on all 58-77 Beetle (15-3/4 inches). You will need to customize the wiring and the holes in the front cowl will need to be drilled slightly larger as the late model shafts are larger in diameter. These Grommets C16-311-261AW are required once holes drilled
