These emblems are produced using a modern die-casting and chrome-plating process. During production, small amounts of residual casting material can remain in some of the fully enclosed voids of certain letters (most commonly the triangular centers of the three “A”s, the loop of the “R”, and the upper loop of the “G”). These areas are not always 100% cleared by the factory, resulting in slightly filled or less-than-perfectly crisp counter spaces (the negative space inside the letters).
This is consistent across the entire current production run and is considered normal for this particular reproduction.
Most customers find it unnoticeable once installed on the dashboard
However, if you are looking for absolutely pristine, fully open letter counters identical to a mint original 50-year-old NOS piece, this reproduction may not meet that expectation.
