CSP Type-4 Dipstick Adapter.
For Type-1 Upright Cooling Conversions
This precision-machined adapter from CSP Products is required when converting a Type-4 engine to a traditional Type-1 (upright) cooling system for use in:
- VW Beetle
- Karmann Ghia (Type-14)
- Thing (Type-181)
- Split Screen Bus (Type 2)
The adapter installs directly onto the engine case in place of the original Type-4 oil filler neck and works perfectly with a standard Type-4 oil dipstick that has been shortened to the correct length.

Installation Note:
Some Type-4 engine cases do not have a pre-drilled oil filler hole. On these blocks, you will need to drill the filler hole and tap two M8 threads.
Installation is straightforward, and the finished result gives your upright conversion a clean, professional look with accurate oil level readings every time.
