This HD aluminum replacement bolt on cam gear can be used with all aftermarket TYPE-4 17-2000CC Bus style performance engine camshafts and also on stock original cams with worn out old cam gears. The stock camshaft gear is made from a magnesium alloy and has been prone to wearing out causing complete engine failure. You will need to remove the old gear and rivets - then drill and tap the rivet holes so you can then bolt on the new gear. We do offer cam bolts that can be modified to work. You can use are T-1 replacement cam bolt which we sell in sets of 3 bolts. You will need to grind down the head of this bolt to clear the back side of the oil pump. From our experience, the best way to do this is to loctite and bolt the 5 cam bolts into place. Then, carefully grind the ridged edge of the bolt down flush the the flat part of the bolt head. You will still be able to remove the bolt as enough head material should remain. For best results, always grind small amounts of bolt material, test fitting often to achieve adequate clearance.
