We now offer this BBT OE-Style fan shroud which has been re-designed to fit the larger Type-4 oil cooler for maximum oil cooling efficiency. See oil cooler Part # VWC-021-117-021-B
These fan shrouds are made to be as close-fitting as possible, but unfortunately there are two different types of crankcases. The difference lies in the crankcase seam, where the two halves of the crankcase meet.
BBT make their fan shroud to fit the narrowest crankcase seam, which is 33mm. If your crankcase seam is the wider 38mm version, you will need to slightly increase the width of the recess in the fan shroud to ensure a proper fit.
Trimming the metal will be necessary for all late model engine cases.
