Description

Kennedy Engineered Products has been manufacturing clutch pressure plates for many years. There latest design has proven to be the best clutch on the market today. These plates are 100% manufactured new by K.E.P.- balanced within .4 oz. inch. 100% load tested and jig assembled. Contact face is high tensile cast iron alloy for strength and stability. Comes with the early style throw-out bearing collar for use on 1970 and early transmissions. For later models- just remove the collar and your K.E.P. clutch works perfectly. Fits all 1600cc style engines with 200mm a flywheel. Works best with our Cushloc disc #ACC-C10-5132.

The K.E.P. clutches come in four load ratings. Be careful that you do not order
a stronger clutch than you need. Torque capacities using a stock disc are shown below.

STOCK Plate can handle 134 Ft.Ib.

KEP STAGE I-1700Ib.
Up to 180ft. Ib. of torque - Intended to handle any street VW
and engines up to '75 Buick V6. Use stronger clutch for later Buicks.

KEP STAGE II-2300Ib.
Up to 220ft. Ib. of torque - Works good in well hopped up VW
sand buggies and most other competition VW uses where the
driver is determined to either win or break.

KEP STAGE III-2600Ib.
Up to 260ft. Ib. of torque - Will handle a low compression
305 CID Chevrolet V8 for street use.

KEP STAGE IV-3000Ib.
Up to 300ft. Ib. of torque - Used by some drag-racers who are running
very large VW engines and nitrous and drop the hammer at 8000 RPM.

All pressure plates are shipped with center T-O bearing ring attached for direct bolt-on
to all 1970 and earlier transmissions. If you have a 1971 or later set up,
then you MOST remove the center ring. This is very easy to do.
