Description
Add classic cockpit-style engine monitoring to your Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3, Porsche 356, Porsche 911, Porsche 912, Porsche 914, or similar air-cooled application with this CIP1 Exclusive black face cylinder head temperature gauge kit. This 600°F CHT gauge kit includes a 4.5 meter / 14.5 foot wiring harness and a 14mm spark plug thermocouple sender.
Appearance Note: This gauge has a black face and black bezel. The product photo may make the bezel look slightly chrome or silver in some lighting, but the bezel is black.
Cylinder head temperature is a useful measurement for monitoring engine heat on air-cooled vehicles, especially during highway driving, climbing grades, heavy loads, spirited driving, or hot weather. This kit uses a thermocouple ring that installs under a 14mm spark plug to read temperature at the cylinder head.
Important Installation Note: This gauge is for negative earth vehicles only. Disconnect the negative battery cable before installation. The 14mm thermocouple eyelet is normally installed under the spark plug on cylinder number 3, with the eyelet positioned closest to the cylinder block.
