This cast "Flame-Thrower" distributor from Pertronix is not only affordable but features a custom mechanical advance curve with vacuum advance that delivers optimum performance and drive-ability. It comes with Pertronix's famous "Ignitor III" ignition module already installed. The Ignitor III ignition module is the latest offering from Pertronix. It offers Ignition box performance without the BOX! It features 5 TIMES more spark energy than stock points. Multi-spark thru the entire RPM range for improved combustion. The unit has a built-in easy to set REV limiter which is accurate to +/ - 50 RPM. Increased burn time and spark energy for improved gas mileage.
Must be used with Pertronix Flamethrower coil, see part number PER-44001 or PER-44011
Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy throughout the entire RPM range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance
Peak current level is reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without the heat build-up, increasing coil performance and module reliability
Adjusts spark timing at higher RPMs to compensate for the inherent electronic delay
Senses startup and develops more energy for quicker, easier starting
Senses crank orientation from either the distributor cam lobe or a PerTronix magnet sleeve

Special Note: You cannot use solid core (typically copper) spark plug wires with this product. Solid core wires do not suppress electromagnetic interference (EMT) which will interfere with electronics in your vehicle. A suppression style or spiral wound spark plug wires must be used.
