Description
These new 12-volt high-output alternators deliver far more charging current than the original 55-amp unit, while remaining a direct fit on the standard Type 1 stand—no bracket modification required.
They are built as an upgrade for air-cooled VW Type 1 engines that now run extra lighting, audio, cooling fans, electric fuel pumps, or a leisure battery. Output options are 75 A, 90 A, and 100 A, so you can match capacity to the electrical load instead of living with dim headlights and a weak charge at idle.
Each unit is a new 12 V internally regulated alternator in the Bosch AL82 / OEM 043-903-023-A family. Search 043-903-023-A to see every output and finish option.

Fitment notes
- Direct bolt-on for vehicles already running a 12 V Type 1 alternator on the stock stand.
- Vehicles converting from a dynamo or an external-regulator setup will need wiring changes (D+ warning-lamp circuit and regulator deletion).
- An incandescent charge-warning lamp on D+ is normally required for the internal regulator to excite and charge correctly.
- Confirm pulley, fan, and stand clearance for your engine tin and belt layout before ordering.
