Description

These bumpers are our Heavy-weight Brazilian OEM chrome plated bumpers which weigh approximately 12 pounds. These Heavy-weight Brazilian OEM bumpers are very good quality with 1.5mm thick steel and weigh 20% more then our other bumpers. The chrome will be good and shiny on the face and top but will be somewhat course or grainy on the bottom side. The back side of the bumpers have been painted for added protection but we do suggest that you re-paint the back with a good quality rust proofing paint to get maximum life from your new bumper. Our standard product warrantee applies to this item.

Be very careful when ordering chrome bumpers for your Beetle. We no longer sell the standard Brazilian chrome bumpers as we have had almost 100% failure due to rusting chrome. Don't waste your money, check out what you are getting before you buy. Please read maintenance notes below.

We now offer 3 versions of quality for this 52-67 Beetle complete rear bumper. There is a 4^th version on the market that many of the other suppliers offer. This 4^thversion is the cheapest Brazilian made bumper which comes with a very thin coating of chrome and will rust very quickly in most climates. We NO LONGER offer this single chrome plated version because we had far too many complaints. If you find a rear 52-67 complete bumper assembly for under $100.00, then you have found a single chrome plated bumper and it WILL rust. As with everything in life, you get what you pay for.

*Special Note about Chrome Bumpers*

Rust only appears if chrome bumpers are neglected. Please follow these Bumper maintenance instructions to keep your chrome bumpers from rusting.

You MUST coat these Bumpers with a light coating of wax (ex. Mothers or Meguiar's car wax www.meguiars.com) in order to keep any moisture from rusting the chrome. If you live in a northern or coastal area with salt air or harsh winter conditions, you will need to wax more often. We recommend waxing your chrome bumpers and wheels every time you wash the vehicle.
